Follow these directions after your tattoo!
Recovery derm has been applied to your tattoo, this is an adhesive bandage that will protect your tattoo. Leave the bandage on for around 4 days and when it’s time to take the bandage off do so in the shower. Wash the tattoo with mild unscented soap and rinse well. To dry use a paper towel and then apply unscented lotion to the tattoo. From there, continue to wash and lotion 1-2 times a day for two weeks.
What else to expect:
Over the next couple of days, the bandage will fill with fluid, this is completely normal and will aid in healing the tattoo. Sometimes the liquid will find its way out of the wrap. If it is a small leak, you can clean and dry the spot and put a small patch piece on the area to extend the life of the wrap. If it leaks too much where a patch won’t hold, you can take the current bandage off and rewrap with another one. Wash the tattoo and rinse thoroughly and then dry with a paper towel. Make sure the tattoo is not exposed to bacteria before applying the bandage. Only rewrap the tattoo within the first 36 hours, after that your body won’t be producing anymore blood or plasma and the wrap will stick to freshly healed skin.
If any excessive irritation or blisters form on the edges of the wrap, then you may have an adhesive allergy and can remove the wrap. In general, remove the wrap in the shower and do so slowly and gently to avoid further irritation.
If the wrap remains off the general healing would be to wash the tattoo 2-3 times a day and apply a lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized. Try to avoid sun exposure and submerging the tattoo in water.
